Marissa Zackowitz

A memory can last a lifetime through a photograph. This has always been Marissa’s philosophy.

Marissa’s passion for photography was sparked when she received a camera from her aunt and uncle on her tenth birthday. She has been taking pictures ever since and her love of the craft has only grown over the years. Marissa refined her skills under the guidance and lessons of renowned photographers Larson Harley and Rebecca Weiss.

Before turning her professional focus to photography, Marissa was an elementary school teacher for 13 years. Her time in the classroom helped her understand how to connect with children and capture their unique personalities though the camera lens. As a family photographer, Marissa strives to deliver a fun and memorable experience that keeps clients coming back year after year.

Marissa grew up in Manhattan and attended the University of Vermont where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Studio Art. She went on to earn her Masters Degree from Bank Street College of Education. She lives in Manhattan with her favorite photography subjects, her husband, two adorable sons and lovable dog.
